Lessons
Lessons are available for students with haul-in horses and for students with horses kept in training at Ryan Potucek Reining Horses. Ryan provides multi-level non-pro and youth instruction. His lesson program breaks down into the following categories:
Beginner students learn horse safety and care, such as catching, leading, tying, grooming, saddling. They also learn basic riding skills like walk, trot, canter, posting, stopping and backing, and gait transitions.
Intermediate riders learn to implement skills guiding and steering the horse, and loping circles. They also learn basic body control of the horse such as giving to the bit, suppling the neck and poll, moving the shoulders, hips, side passing, and cueing horses for spins (pivoting on the haunches and turning on the forehand).
Advanced riders learn to refine cues, counter canter, change leads, and perform speed transitions, rollbacks, and sliding stops.
